Yoga and helping out

Often when we start to understand the impact that our yoga practice has in our lives we begin to feel the need to share this experience with the rest of the community. The positive actions we take in our lives often times have an enlarging effect on our perceptive. It is as if the blinders come off, our mind is more often then not still and we are all see our neighbours, our community and their suffering. I say this because yoga can have such a trans formative effect on our perspective, from my own experience I have see people grow to know their self worth, stand tall and strive forward confidently. When we reach that place in our practice we often have a greater perspective for the amount of good one person can do in the world. Indeed we have probably all read the infamous Margaret Meed quote " A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. "
I just want to let all you know about the cool things that are taking place with in the yoga world. Some very pragmatic and helpful people are making a difference in peoples lives- check out the link to "Yoga and Youth at Risk"- it directs you to a group of individuals who are taking the time to teach yoga to incarcerated or at risk youth and as always there is Volunteer Vancouver with plenty of great options for sharing your time and energy.

Have a look and share your thoughts with the rest of us.

Perspective be with you today!
